Yasmine Fofana, a marketing and communication professional with 8 years of experience currently serves as the External Affairs Manager at the International University of Grand-Bassam. She is a woman of many passions and women’s empowerment is one of them. She now volunteers as the Fundraising Coordinator for SEPHIS (an association promoting female leadership).

Yasmine is a food and travel enthusiast and believes in uniting food and tourism to drive the economic development in Côte d’Ivoire. The yearning of launching a startup geared towards culinary tourism grew over the years as her blog (Journal d’une Foodie: 1st food & dining guide for locals and expatriates) slowly became a reference.

Yasmine attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.In 2016 She has been one of the 1000 africans to be selected as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship program for young african leaders. She recently completed a Business and Entrepreneurship Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University in June & July and attended the Presidential Summit with U.S President Barack Obama in August 2016.


Through this blog : Diary of a Young African Leader ( YALI), Yasmine intends to share her journey as a Mandela Washington Fellow throughout the courses of the 6 weeks spent in the United States.
